魔道祖师 by 墨香铜臭 Mo Dao Zu Shi by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

It’s been really long. Anyways I found a good novel that pulled me out of my nest lol. I was quite late discovering this but still, I would post this just encase someone out there would like this. Lately I’ve been binge reading every work this author has.

Let me start on this one. Apparently, this is the author’s most popular work that this got an anime and a manga adaptation which was the reason I found it.

Guys I’m telling you the Chinese Fandom of this novel is an eye-opener, considering that this is a BL novel .

This novel when you searched for chapters and spoilers it would show different names, some sites I’ve read have called it

They are still same. Now lets start the review . As always I review books with the caveat on them. I spoil A lot so if you are the type that like surprises go straight to the link at the bottom of this.

SUMMARY:

As the grandmaster who founded the Demonic Sect, Wei WuXian roamed the world in his wanton ways, hated by millions for the chaos he created. In the end, he was backstabbed by his dearest Rashidi and killed by powerful clans that combined to overpower him. He incarnates into the body of a lunatic who was abandoned by his clan and is later, unwillingly, taken away by a famous cultivator among the clans—Lan WangJi, his archenemy. This marks the start of a thrilling yet hilarious journey of attacking monsters, solving mysteries, and raising children. From the mutual flirtation along the way, Wei WuXian slowly realizes that Lan WangJi, a seemingly haughty and indifferent poker-face, holds more feelings for Wei WuXian than he is letting on.

WuXian was again given a chance when a body was offered to him. So he wakes up 13 years after his death and learns that he was written down as the most hated person in history. The story progresses from here. Meeting the one man he never thought would act so differently from his past. In the first chapters, Wu xian would meet an incident that had forced him to use his infamous prowess (summoning the undead ) what he didn’t expect was that he unconsciously summoned When Ning (his ghost general) which is pretty much a ringing alarm to those around, since Wen Ning was famous because where ever Wu Xian appears the ghost general follows. This makes them suspicious of him.

Jiang Cheng then appears and would get to hit Wu Xian with his whip: Zidian (“purple lightning”). It’s the ability to separate the soul and body of a person who had seized someone else’s body.

This incident enabled him to escape suspicion for a while but one man wasn’t fooled. Guess who ?😂 Then the story flows from there .

Guys, really I can’t find the right words to give justice to this novel, so I’m linking you sites and see for yourself, really how just worthy binge reading this

My favorite this was not a scene , but the Gusulan Sect headband. (found this on the spoilers thread)

See the founder of the Gusulan Sect ( ML’s clan ) was a monk and was very strict with his actions, which is also part of the reason why the Lan clan has so many Clan Rules. If you watch the anime you can see the rules written on the walls of the mountain where the sect resides.

Now the headband tied around them is supposed to symbolize one’s self-restraint. Follow the rules and all the self implicated restrictions.

It is only in front of the person you love and is determined to spend your life with, that this self-restraint is not needed.
So, it is a heavy taboo for anyone besides yourself to even touch your headband tie, much less tie it on someone else. The only exception to this would be your true love, so the fact that ML tied up Wu Xian with his headband tie and then showed it off is kind of equivalent to screaming into a megaphone that Wu Xian is the love of his life while naked.
The headband tie is a super important object that only you and your true love are allowed to touch. If someone else touches it, then it’s a great insult to your honor, integrity, etc. Of course, in his first life Wu Xian had touched ML’s headband tie quite a few times without knowing this and thought it was just decoration that was part of the clean uniform.
